Representative Mark Sylvia Announces Legislative Committee Assignments

Boston, MA – State Representative Mark Sylvia (D-Fairhaven) is pleased to announce that he has appointed to serve on the Joint Committees on Environment and Natural Resources, and Labor and Workforce Development, and the House Committees on Climate Action and Sustainability and Federal Funding, Policy and Accountability.


“I am truly honored to be appointed to these Joint and House Committees,” said Representative Sylvia. “Each of these areas plays a crucial role in the 10th Bristol District, as well as across the Commonwealth. I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to develop policies that will help address the needs of our district and position the Commonwealth as a leader in these important sectors.”


He further remarked that “These committee assignments allow me to engage directly on a number of issues important to our district including water and wastewater, land preservation, environmental protection, coastal management, jobs, workers’ rights, training, climate policy, and federal funding,”


Representative. Sylvia is serving his first term in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, proudly representing the 10th Bristol District. With over 15 years of distinguished experience in both state and municipal government, Rep. Sylvia is a passionate advocate for local government, public service, and sustainable growth.


Representing the 10th Bristol District, which includes Acushnet (Precincts 1 and 2A), Fairhaven, parts of New Bedford (Ward 1 Precincts A, B, and C1), and the towns of Marion, Mattapoisett, and Rochester (Plymouth County), Rep. Sylvia continues to champion the needs of his constituents and work tirelessly for the betterment of the Commonwealth.


With his extensive leadership experience in government and the private sector and his commitment to public service, Representative Sylvia is poised to make a lasting impact on Massachusetts’ future.
